Apprentice chef 2nd / 3rd year

We're looking for an experienced apprentice to join our award winning kitchen.  Someone who loves cooking, is excited by garden produce, and can dig in (no pun intended!) and get stuff done.  ou'll need to have some runs on the board already, with experience related to the kind of cooking we do at Green Zebra.

Classification: full time apprenticeship

 

Hours:  roughly 6am-4pm 4-5 days per week, including weekends.  Extra days, or hours may be needed (covering for others who are absent etc).  Attend Albury tafe 1 day per week.

Duties: All aspects of our kitchen operations may be required.  Food prep, sauce cooking, food service, cleaning and even dishwashing, etc.  The ability to work alone,  and maintain standards is crucial.

Requirements:  

* xperience in one, or more of the following: breakfast, lunch or dinner service cooking; fast paced, small quantity, high standard food prep; pasta specific cooking or studies

* The ability to work alone,  and maintain standards is crucial (thats a polite way of saying that you need to do an awesome job, even if nobody is watching you!).  

* A commitment to learn about food, and cooking.  Not just to attend tafe, and scrape through your assessments without any prior study.  We want someone who is into the whole commercial cooking thing! 

* It's a physically demanding job.  You'll be on your feet all day, working under pressure, and always needing to be fast.
